Registration & Login

Inform: Inquire about the admission procedure in your faculty before registering.
Secure supervision: You need the approval of a person authorized to supervise from your faculty.

To the websites of the faculties

You only need to register in Docata to apply for admission to the doctorate. Therefore, the following persons do not need to register:

• Doctoral candidates who are already admitted and enrolled
• Reviewers and members of examination committees

How do I register?

Visit Docata, click Registration -> agree to Declaration of consent and in case of...

• ... active UHH user account -> IDM Account:  If you have an active UHH user account (so-called STiNE-ID or B-Kennung), enter it there along with your associated password. Note: Please be aware that we send emails from Docata to your UHH email address.
  I see incorrect data in the registration form: Via IDM Account your data is transferred from the RRZ user management. If corrections (first name, last name, birth data) are necessary, please contact the Campus Center (in case you are enrolled) and/or the Human Resources Department (in case you are an employee at the University of Hamburg).

• ... non-existent or inactive UHH user account-> Docata Account: If you do not have a usable UHH user ID, register there with one of your email addresses.
  After registration, you will receive an email with a link to set your password. The link expires after 12 hours. Therefore, check your email immediately after completing the registration. Then click on the link in the email and set a password. Depending on your browser settings, you should close and reopen the browser or use the 'Refresh' function. Afterwards, you can log in.

IDM Account: When you register with your UHH user ID, some information is already filled in. Only a few additional details are required.

Docata Account: If you register without a UHH user ID, here are some hints for certain fields.

• Email: Please enter one of your private email addresses here, which you check regularly.
• Gender: Please select “diverse” or “no information” only if this selection is also officially registered for you in the civil registry.
• Title: only enter if you already have a doctorate
• First name(s): Enter all first names as listed on your ID.
• Preferred first name: This is the name by which you will be addressed in Docata.
• Last name: Enter your full last name.
• Name affix: Providing this information is only necessary if your birth name differs from your last name.

After successful registration, you can log into Docata.

Your username is - depending on your registration - either the UHH user ID (so-called STiNE-ID, B-Kennung) or the email address you provided during registration.

I cannot log in:

1. Make sure that you are on the correct Docata platform. The MIN faculty has its own Docata system.
2. If you have forgotten your password, you can use "Request new password" on the login page.
3. If the first two points do not lead to success, please feel free to contact us (#FeelFreeToUseFirstName).
